SJS Month

SJS Canada Awareness Day
Drinking Straw Day
5th August
Recurring oral lesions (sores in the mouth) is one of the long-term effects of SJS/TEN, as a result some survivors continues to face a difficult time when eating. Constant inflamed lips remain the reality for many, so a straw is necessary when drinking. Today we support those survivors by joining the battle against SJS/TEN and drink with a STRAW, and celebrate health.
Self-Admiration Day
10th August
The idea for this day is for everyone to help survivors love and appreciate themselves, because SJS/TEN often alters one’s appearance. So today the request is for everyone to celebrate health- pause a moment to look into the mirror and truly admire and appreciate the person looking back at them.
SJS Memorial Day
15th August
The idea for this day is for everyone to help survivors love and appreciate themselves, because SJS/TEN often alters one’s appearance. So today the request is for everyone to celebrate health- pause a moment to look into the mirror and truly admire and appreciate the person looking back at them.
Soft footwear Day
19th August
The after effect of SJS/TEN has left some survivors with very tender feet, as a result of the peeling off of skin from the sole of their feet. As a result, many survivors have to wear special shoes that are very soft or has special insoles to help cushion the impact of hard surfaces on their feet. Today we show our support and celebrate health, by walking in their shoes: wear soft and cuddly footwear.
Smile for life Day
26th August
The pain of SJS/TEN is so excruciating, even just a smile causes severe pain. As well some survivor’s lips were sealed shut because of the multiple sore on the lips, so they couldn’t smile. Today we smile for heath, and celebrate health.
Virtual Walk-A-Thon all month long 25th August
This is our SJS/TEN virtual month long walk to celebrate the health and life of SJS/TEN survivors.
